Course Overview
To educate LMT’s about the needs of pre and post-partum women. This is highly recommended for fathers as well.
Learning objectives
1. Understand the physiological and emotional experiences of mother and child during the childbearing year.
2. Identify the benefits of massage during the three trimesters of pregnancy.
3. Identify the benefits of infant massage for both child and parent.
4. Review current Touch Research Institute findings
5. Correctly perform proper positioning and bodywork techniques during pregnancy.
6. Correctly perform infant massage strokes and demonstrate infant massage skills and techniques to parents.

Carla DiMauro, LMT, is certified in Infant Massage Instruction and Prenatal/Postpartum Therapeutic Bodywork. She is an instructor at the American Institute of Massage Therapy, and maintains a busy private practice in Fort Lauderdale.
